WOD: CrossFit 07.02.2012

It’s was a birthday WOD today for Maida, who turned 27. I accidently did extra credit by doing the sprints and long jumps twice. Joy!

Had trouble with the kettlebell swings and had to go down to a baby weight one because my rotator cuff is killing me. Even the burpees made it hurt. I think I’ve mostly knocked it out with some ibuprofen, but I’ll be icing and stretching like a champ all day.

I think the reason I keep having trouble with the same shoulder is because it is the one I sleep on (stretched out under my pillow). I’m wondering if the muscles and tendons on my right side are shorter than on my left. Just a thought.

Glad it was Maida’s birthday, though, because that got us out of doing shoulder presses. I couldn’t have done them today.

After the WOD, we did lots of tabata business:

  • V-holds (like a V-up, but just hold it, toes point back towards you, chest out)
  • 1-arm planks (flat back, not on your side)
  • sit-ups
  • air squats, and you hold at the bottom on the “rest”

I think I lost a good 2 lbs in sweat this morning.
