WOD: Running 08.04.2012


Woo, glad that’s over! The blue spikes are me walking. The green is the elevation profile of my run. Why is all of Kentucky uphill?
Stopped in the middle at mile 6 and went into Kroger. Pretended to shop while secretly stealing their air conditioning. At mile 7, some trivialbob looking dude who looked like he was out for an “easy jog” just breezed right past me. How is it that I feel like I’m running my ass off, and guys like that who look like they’re barely jogging are twice as fast?
Was muggy out, but didn’t feel as bad as the numbers predicted. Perhaps I’m acclimated. Still leads to lots of walking.
In my head, I already decided it was an “easy 12” — I planned on walking a lot, so it didn’t hurt my feelings when I did. Today wasn’t a day for a 12 mile PR. My actual running pace was about a 10:15-10:30.
