WOD: CrossFit 08.06.2012

Strength: Push Press

4 sets x 10: 65#, 75#, 85#, 95#

Bit wobbly on the last set, but form was good! Push presses are also great cardio. My heart always feels like it wants to explode when I finish a long set. I’m good at anything that involves pushing — I can push you down, but not pull you up! See my difficulties with the green band below as evidence.

WOD:

Warm-up included 30 push-ups, 1200m run, 30 air squats.

Then 10 minutes AMRAP:

  • 6 chest-to-bar pull-ups: We ran out of all the other bands and I had to use green (the biggest/most assistance)! This caused me issues on 2 parts — A: I’m not strong enough to pull it down far enough to even get my foot in it, so trainer had to help me each time, and B: I didn’t feel like these were worth my time because it’s too easy with the green band. I think I’ll do a few sets of these here at home today to make up for it.
  • 12 hand release push-ups: I like these; they’re fun.
  • 24 double unders: 96 singles

I did 5 rounds + 16. Probably could have done 7 without the band struggles. Oh, to be an expert CrossFitter who needs no bands for C2B pull-ups! There were 2 in class today — they both did about 4 rounds and were working hard.

Followed by:

  • 500m row for time — 2:10

Think my shoulders are smoked enough to skip my at-home #100pushups work today.
