WOD: CrossFit 09.01.2012
I had special visitors at my gym this morning! Met up with @ourtimetochange and @maeinanutshell at the alternate location (my CF has 2 different gyms). They are visiting my city this weekend!
Strength: Deadlifts
4 x 10: 103#, 123#, 133#, 153#
Then tried for 1RM — managed to lift up 203# about to my knees, but still don’t have it. Thanks to @maeinanutshell for pushing me to try!
WOD:
50-40-30-20-10 reps of:
- Squats
- Hand release push-ups
- Sit-ups
- Rowing (distance = reps x 10, so 500, 400, etc.)
Got called out for being a “happy rocker” on my push-ups. Now I know that your legs need to stay engaged and hips off the ground on the release. Really made these tough! My time was 33:45, mostly because of the push-ups. I could start with 8-10, but then I’d be all 2s and 1s to finish out each set. Still did them strict, though. Arms are jello.
I really hate rowing.
@ourtimetochange was unimpressed by my CF’s WOD, so we had to create extra challenges for him. Weighted push-ups it is! Here he is with 85# on his back (oh, um, I mean 135# haha):
